An ACC request, a highly suggested submittal by any homeowner, is essential for those looking to make any home improvement, including adding, altering, or making physical changes to the exterior of their property. The Melrose Board of Trustees encourages policy suggestions that align with the 'Total Environment' Concept, while also exercising the right to impose fines on homeowners who fail to maintain their property according to the HOA’s standards detailed in the governing documents (Deed Restrictions). Some common ACC requests include, but are not limited to:
- Roof installation
- Exterior house painting
- In-ground pool installation
- Deck/Pergola/Brick paver patio installation
- Fence installation
- Mailbox installation
If you are unsure whether an ACC request should be submitted for any proposed changes to your property’s exterior, it is best to err on the side of caution and submit an ACC request to PMI Scioto Metro for review by the Melrose HOA Board of Trustees. To complete an ACC request submittal, you can use the PMI Scioto Metro Homeowner Portal:
1. Login to the PMI Scioto Homeowner Portal
2. Click on the HOMEOWNER tab
3. Click on MODIFICATIONS
4. ADD ACC REQUEST (here you will be able to select the ACC type, provide details of the request, and attach any necessary documents)
If your ACC request has been denied, you have 30 days to appeal the decision. You may submit your appeal via email to PMI Scioto Metro, or request that the board hears your appeal in person.
